I was a big fan of the first Dragon Age (Dragon Age: Origins). I really got into it until I got to the dwarf section of the game. That part was so boring I couldn't continue no matter how much I tried. I ended up never finishing the game cause of it.Now Dragon Age II is out and I have been fighting a battle within me. That battle is the decision to get the game or not. I ended up playing the demo on Steam and found out that in Dragon Age II you can't choose your race. You are stuck playing a human and you have no choice in the matter. This was not a deal breaker for me but it made the sequel look less epic. I got an understanding of how DA2 was going to play, so after the demo I decided to wait until the reviews came. I read that DA2 is not the best that Bioware has done, in fact they say the game seemed rushed. Which I couldn't argue, it was only a year since the first one. Then I read a bunch of reader reviews talking about how they dumbed down the game to be more linear and fast spaced. I was really hoping for an epic sequel here but with only a year of development time I could see how the sequel came in under par.
I did like the demo and the gameplay, but I am going to wait on this one. I don't plan on picking up Dragon Age II until maybe the summer. There are to many other games I'd like to play through and purchase instead of dropping $60 on a below par sequel to an awesome PC RPG. Looks like I'll be skipping this one....sorry Bioware, better luck next time.
